Hoofer News

As the lake begins to melt, Hoofers is entering its seasonal transition time. If you are interested in a new activity or joining a new club, visit the Outdoor Programs Office anytime from 9-5, M-F for information, or call 608-262-1630.

Things to watch for this Spring at Hoofers:

- Hoofer Council and Club elections: VOTE NOW! @ Hoofers or email VP-Administration Ryan Schmudlach at rschmud@gmail.com

- 10 new Tech Dinghies to be introduced to the fleet in the Sailing Club
- New lessons and youth camps in the Riding Club
- Certification courses starting up in the SCUBA Club
- More local trips from Hoofer Mountaineering
- The Outing Club keeping doing what it does (which seems to be everything - you should get involved!)
- Outdoor Rentals opening during the third week of April

Outside of Hoofers, other things to watch for:

- May 5th, the day that space allocations for the new South Campus Union will be finalized
- May 31st - TerraceFest, w/ Hoofer Extravanganza

I hope that as the school year comes to and end and weather warms up you become as invigorated as I am to get outside and try something new. After our harsh winter, the warmth of these recent days (relatively speaking, of course) has been a welcome change. I encourage you to seek out a learning experience, new friends and a new way to contribute to Hoofers through your participation and leadership.

If you have any questions for me, you can find me at president@hoofers.org
